ABUJA- BOARD of Trustees, BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has ruled out any possibility of holding the party’s National Convention next month, warning that going against the provision of the party’s constitution on already established Tenure at all party levels of the PDP would be amount to invitation of uncontrolled litigations.

In a statement yesterday by BoT Secretary, Senator Walid Jubrin, there was no way the PDP can hold national convention next month when it was yet to recieve report of the PDP Post Election Assessment Committee which has Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu as Chairman.

He also said that the PDP BoT was in total support of the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki; Honourable Yakubu Dogara and Senator Ike Ekweremadu as Senate President, Speaker, House of Representatives and Deputy Senate President respectively.

Senator Jubrin said, “I never said PDP will hold national convention in August. what I said after our last BoT meeting. No way convention can hold in August because there is need to arrange proper congresses before national conventions and also the postmortem committee which Iam the secretary has not submitted its work afterwhich it will submit its report accordingly.

“The current NWC,State, Local Government Councils and ward chapters have a tenure which will expire in march. The emergence of Bot chairman and national chairman after 3 months will prepare for a meeting of caucus, BoT, NEC and convention to elect officials.

“I urge all members to remain calm. I want to emphasise that going againstthe provision of our party constitution on already established Tenure ln all party levels will be an invitation to uncontrolled litigations. The resignation of muazu and Anenih are done on personal grounds and our party constitution takes care of it.

” The BoT fully surport the emergence of present leadership of NASS as the appointments are good omen for democracy i therefore call on those concern to coporate in order to forge ahead.”
