Maurice Greene
The best of Nigerian athletes will fight to book a place in the country’s team to the IAAF world championships and the All Africa Games when they collide, at All Nigeria Championships starting in Warri from Wednesday July 29.
And for former world and Olympic champion, Maurice Greene it will be a tough contest, as the top athletes are prepared to display their best performances in a bid to earn a team place.
“I think everybody is getting ready for the National Championships. Many athletes are coming in with their A performances and some others in advance stages of their trainings will be coming in, so I expect it will be a tough trials,” Greene stated.
Some of the athletes participated at the CAA grandprix and Warri Relays last Friday and they didn’t give any hint about what to expect in the trials. They put up presentations, which did not even march their season’s best performances.
