G7: France, Canada, Germany back Buhari on fight against Boko Haram
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Elmau at the G7 summit, Germany, reaffirmed his administration’s total commitment to ending Boko Haram’s insurgency in the shortest time possible. This is containded in a news release issued by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President, Malam Garba Shehu.
Father strangles four daughters in Pakistan
A Pakistani man has murdered his four young daughters in the central province of Punjab, police said Monday. The crimes occurred in Chak Jumra town, around 215 kilometres (135 miles) northwest of Lahore. “Irshad Ahmed, a resident of Chak Jumra strangled his four daughters, two sets of twins, late Sunday night,” local police official Ghulam Shabir told newsmen.
Gunmen kill Nigerian businessman in South Africa
A Nigerian businessman based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mr Emmanuel Onyekaozuru, 50, was killed on Sunday by gunmen. The President of Nigeria Union in South Africa, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, on Monday told newsmen in Pretoria, South Africa, that Onyekaozuru was shot by two gunmen.

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday charged lawmakers in the 8th Assembly in the state to make laws that would better the lot of Lagosians. Ambode gave the charge at the proclamation/inauguration of the 8th assembly, at the Lagos State House of Assembly complex, Alausa. The governor said the proclamation was in accordance with Section 105 Subsection 3 of the 1999 Constitution. He charged the lawmakers to put the people at the centre of all their actions.
