There are positive signals that the current government led by President Muhammadu Buhari will attract international investors to the Nigerian economy.
The recent business meeting between Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Gu Xiao Jie, and the Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited, NigComSat, Abimbola Alale, held in Abuja recently was a promising one.
The two countries after the meeting have started exploring the richly rewarding benefits emerging global twin-concept of economic and technological complementarity.
The inter-institutional cum bilateral business meeting which attracted a team of Chinese Experts as well as top management players from the NigComSat stable, besides acknowledging that the robust business and institutional relationship which had existed between NigComSat and China , since the launch of the first communication satellite in 2007, had equally enjoyed a high level of cordiality and encouragement.
With this arrangement, issues, values and concepts that will drive the twin-concept of Economic & technological complementarity and eventually lead to the official endorsement of a bilateral policy implementation and commercialization, would be facilitated as soon as a new Communications Technology Minister is appointed by the present government.
The boss of NigComSat, Ms Abimbola Alale, who expressed optimism in the exchange of laudable ideas between the two countries, said apart from the timely nature of the outing, NigComSat , stands to gain from the partnership profile, given the plethora of business and full commercialization opportunities that exist.
Like most eminent world leaders, who had long commended the unique and uncommon electoral processes that ushered in the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, described the May 29th ,2015 presidential Inauguration as most successful.
The Chinese envoy assured NigComSat that given the knowledge-base he had gotten from his official visit as well as the routine facility tour he carried out at NigComSat’s ground station, Abuja, will strengthen the mutual relationship between China and Nigeria, adding that , is a very strategic business partner of China in the African continent.
Giving a historical insight into the operational functionality of Nigeria’s Satellite feat, the Chinese Ambassador, revealed that NigComSat , was the first to be launched by China, followed by the Federal Republic of Pakistan, with other countries trailing behind.
Emboldened by this trail-blazing achievement recorded by NigComSat , the Chinese Ambassador promised to officially facilitate the establishment of an Assimilation , while also informing the management of the Astronaut launch by Nigeria through the use of the Chinese Space is ongoing.
