NACOMYO urges Nigerians to be patient with Buhari’s govt

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO) has commended Nigerians over the perseverance and understanding showed during the hardship caused by the fuel scarcity in the country. The group through its National President, Kamal’ddin Akintunde said that such perseverance symbolizes patriotism, asking them to sustain such endurance and remain committed towards national goal.

BuhariKatsina3It noted that more of the sacrifice will still be required by them if the incoming government must succeed. The release commended PENGASON, and the Independent Oil Marketers for reaching agreement with government, and especially the Capital Oil for its praise-worthy initiative, placing national interest above company’s consideration.

While renewing call for the new political-office holders to deliver on their campaign promises, the Muslim Youth group enjoined the President-elect and the Vice-President elect to be guided by the teachings of their faith and rule with piety and justice, required of public-office holders.

NACOMYO also charged the Governors-elect and the NASS and SASS members to be above boards, both in their private and official undertakings, stating that they should be exemplary as leaders. It called on incoming governments to avoid draconian policies and laws that are counter-productive and anti-development.

NACOMYO also praised the outgoing government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for its people-inclined policies, programmes and projects including the revived ailing railway and other public transportation.

The release canvassed for “job security” for Nigerian youths by the incoming government, stating that the youths deserve such compensation and a twenty-five to thirty-five percent “affirmative action” for shunning temptations and refused to be used in the hands of some self-seeking Nigerians, just as it enjoined them to remain steadfast in the task of nation building.
