Dike relishes USA W/Cup match-up

Super Falcons forward, Courtney Dike has said she will be personally fulfilled to face her home country, USA at the upcoming 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada.

Nigeria will confront USA in the last group game on June 16 at the BC Place Stadium, Vancouver.

The Oklahoma State football team markswoman was part of Falconets squad that finished as runners-up at last year’s Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Canada.

Dike said it is a rare privilege to be called to the Super Falcons promising to do her very best to help the side at the World Cup.

“That’s what I’m expecting to face USA at the World Cup in Canada. It’ll be really great, I live there and I’ve seen some of their players play football.

“I feel super excited to be here because it’s been a while since I’ve been with these girls. ”

I have grown as a player especially from the last Under-20 Women’s World Cup, so I am excited to bring my skills here and hopefully help the team.

“It’s a huge honour being in the Super Falcons. The Under-20 experience was great some of the players are still here and I am excited to play with them.

“I am equally excited to meet the new players as well and learn from the ones that are more experienced than I am,” said Dike.

Falcons will open their title account against Sweden on June 08 at the Winnipeg Stadium while Australia will take turn on June 12 at same ground.
