Lagos— A manager with Nigerian Bottling Company, NBC, Limited, Olubusoye Abayomi, who is in charge of Plant/Logistics has been arraigned before an Ebute-Metta Chief magistrate’s court, sitting at Oyingbo for allegedly stealing N68,703,480 belonging to the company.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Richard Odigie, told the court that the defendant, who is in his early 40s and others still at large, committed the offence between June 2011 and June 2014, while acting as the manager in the two capacities.

Odigie said the act was discovered when a forensic audit was conducted on the company’s account, adding that following the discovery, the defendant was handed over to the police for prosecution.

The defendant, who is facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing, was docked before Magistrate I. O. Adelaja.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him by the police.
