Nigeria’s only hope for continental soccer glory Warri Wolves, yesterday rallied to a 2-1 victory over visiting Congolese side MK Etancheite at the Warri Township Stadium.

The result left them in a tight corner, while MK officials were ecstatic as they hope to get the job done in the return leg tie on May 2 at the Stade des Martyrs.

Gbolahan Salami shot Warri Wolves ahead in the sixth minute to give the home fans a reason to believe. However, the fight back from MK Etancheite gave Wolves’ coach Paul Aigbogun cause for concern and they have their hearts in their mouths as the visitors won a penalty, but the chance was wasted by Kabangu Kadiama.

At the break Warri Wolves stepped up their game with Oghenekaro Etebo testing the resolve of the opponents defence. His efforts were reward, when he played on Salami   who fired home to restore       some confidence.   But
