A 24-year-old man, Kuti Adedoyin, has been charged before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly robbing one Adekunle Dawodu of his laptop valued at N1.2 million, while armed with cutlass and bottle.

Similarly, a 34-year-old driver, identified as Innocent Togboe, was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N1.65 million from his employer.

Adedoyin said to have also robbed Dawodu of his Ipad worth N60,000.

According to the charge, the accused committed the offence at Eyita Palace Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Adedoyin was arraigned by the police on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Eranus Nnamonu, informed the court that the offence was contrary to Section 294 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

Magistrate Komolafe granted Adedoyin a N500,000 bail with two sureties, who must be blood relatives and must show evidence of tax payment for period of three years.

The magistrate ordered that N50,000 be deposited in the account of the Chief Registrar and adjourned till May 28.

For the 34-year-old Togboe, the prosecutor, Inspector Gbemileke Agoi, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on August 28, 2013.

He said that the incident took place at Victoria Island area of Lagos State.

Magistrate Dalley granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the matter till May 7 for mention.

According to the prosecutor the offence committed is punishable under Sections 285 (7) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
