Minna—Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has defended his action over the handing over of administration of the state to the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Barrister Adam Usman, instead of his deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto, while on vacation.
Governor Aliyu, who made the clarification in Minna on Wednesday when he swore in three Commissioners into the state executive council said he did not in any way soite his deputy as there was no basis for that adding that he still remains his deputy until the end of their tenure in May this year.
The Governor who was reacting to the issue for the first time exokainednthat he has been having a good working and personal relationships with his deputy for the past years and have no cause to spite him it have crisis with him now especially at the tail end of their administration.
‘In fact I did not spite the deputy governor as far as I am concerned he is still the deputy governor and we will remain in office till the end of my administration because we are on a joint ticket,” the governor explained.
He said he had to hand over to the speaker of the House of Assembly while on a short break because his Deputy had written to him that he was also travelling for the lesser hajj on the 19th of last month the same day he was to travel.
