Former President Goodluck Jonathan
Thousands of artisans in Edo State have endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid on March 28.
The artisans association comprising welders, commercial drivers, tailors, hair stylists, furniture makers, spare-part sellers and cell phone repairers among others, gave their endorsement at a meeting with Chief Solomon Edebiri, Chairman of the Goodluck Jonathan/ Namadi Sambo re-election campaign organisation, artisan sub-committee, in Benin.
The artisans, who spoke through their chairmen, said they would, as from today, devote hours to hold rallies on major streets in Benin to campaign and woo other Edo people to vote for Jonathan on March 28.
They said that they decided to devote everything to the Jonathan re-election campaign machinery after Edebiri succinctly x-rayed the achievements of President Jonathan’s administration.
The artisans said they believed that if given another opportunity, Jonathan would consolidate on his achievements as well as afford him the opportunity to complete the technology institute in Edo State.
Earlier, Edebiri, the governorship candidate of the defunct ANPP during the 2012 election in Edo State, said the meeting was convened to discuss with the artisans about their welfare and future of the country.
