Sultan to declare open Muslim Students’ Vacation Course in Ibadan

Dr Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) is to declare open the 98th edition of Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) on Thursday Dec. 25th.

In a statement issued in Ibadan by Alhaji Mushafau Alaran, MSSN B Zone Coordinator said that the formal opening will hold at the permanent site of the body at KM 30 on Ibadan/Lagos Expressway.

Alaran said that Governors of Oyo, Abiola Ajimobi, Ogun, Ibikunle Amosun and Osun, Rauf Aregbesola would be the Guests of Honour on the Day.

The Course, according to him, will hold from Tuesday, Dec. 23 to Jan. 1, 2015.

He said that Alhaji Sulaiman Adegunwa would be the chairman of the formal opening while Malam Yusuf Ali (SAN) would deliver a lecture on the theme of the Course “A Time to Come”.

Other highlights of the 10-day vacation course include seminars, training, empowerment, Qur’an memorisation, lectures, group discussion and sports.

Alaran said the annual IVC was to fully engage the students during the vacation and inculcate in them the true spirit of Islam.

Over 10,000 students and workers are slated to attend the 98th edition of the Course.
