
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria is set to hold its 63rd annual conference, (Jalsa Salana), 2014. The event will be held at the Jamia Ahmadiyya (Ahmadiyya Missionary Training Center ) Ilaro- Owode road, Ilaro ,Ogun state.
According to a release signed by Qasim Akinreti, Chairman National publicity committee and sent to Vanguard, the annual conference which is slated for 26th to 28th December,2014, and themed: “Politics, Social Justice and GLobal Peace: The Dilemma of Religion will be attended by distinguished Nigerians from all walks of life and neighboring countries across West Africa.
According to Akinreti, four lectures on the theme of the conference will be delivered by eminent Islamic scholars and speakers drawn from the clergy, academia, and the public sector.
The three-day event will equally featured special prayers for Nigeria’s 2015 general election, individual aspirations in the New year.
Meanwhile, the conference planning officer of the Jamaat, (Jalsa Officer) Alhaji Mufadil Bankole held a family reunion event at the Ndubuisi Kanu Park opposite Lagos House of Assembly, Alausa, Ikeja, for some families in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.
The re-union was meant to reinforce and bring back to life family bonds in the Islamic society. Issues on the essence of family values, inter-marriages and spiritual development of the family were discussed at the event by the Deputy head (Naib Amir south-West). Alhaji Azeez Alatoye and the Naib Amir Special Duties, Alhaji Hammed AL Hassan.
The duo stressed the need for frequent visits by families to sustain the spiritual and social bond among Ahmadi Muslims both young and old.
The family reunion event was also an opportunity for the younger ones to interact while the older ones exchanged pleasantries. A befitting lunch and congregational prayers were held to the admiration of all. Families from Lagos, Warri and Calabar attended the event. The families called for more expensive event of such magnitude in the coming months. The family of Alhaji Mufadil Bankole expressed satisfaction on the event and thank those who attend the event.
