Why I want to represent Burutu constituency— Pondi

A Delta State youth leader, Mr. Julius Pondi, has said that his desire to contest for the Burutu Federal constituency on the platform Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was borne out of the need to provide purposeful representation that would fast track the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the area.

Pondi, who spoke shortly after picking his expression of interest and nomination forms from the state PDP Secretariat in Asaba, noted that the area had suffered under-representation since 1999 compared to other federal constituencies that have dividends of democracies to show.

The former leader of Burutu Legislative Arm, while calling for support from the people, said that he would provide purpose-driven service to the people of Burutu if given the opportunity to represent them at the House of Representatives.

Mr. Churchill Botu and Pondi’s campaign Director-General, Mr. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, described Pondi as a vibrant and trusted legislator, who can effectively represent the constituency, noting that as leader of Burutu Legislative Arm, the House passed a bill making it compulsory for all public and private schools in the council to teach Ijaw language.
