ABEOKUTA—Ogun State government, yesterday, said it had adjusted the schools calendar in all the public schools by extending the closing hour by additional one hour for the pupils to meet up with the academic calendar.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Segun Odubela, who stated this after he went round some schools in the state, explained that students in the public schools would hence forth close by 3p.m. instead of 2p.m.
He also disclosed that students would be given only one day as Easter holiday, adding that students would lose one week of their first term holiday.
State chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Dare Ilekoya, commended the government for providing Ebola preventive equipment in public schools.
