Mercy Ajisafe, a  model   and On-Air Personality with   Cool FM Lagos is one damsel who isn’t scared to express her views concerning salient issues. The sexy media personality who once based in the U.K described what stands her out and her unique selling point as an OAP.

“We tolerate counterfeits in Nigeria but accept authenticity and that’s one thing that has helped me. I have been able to connect to my listeners by being myself. One of the ways I have been able to connect to my listeners is by being honest. I don’t know everything, I don’t always get it right but one thing I can always promise is that whatever comes out of my mouth is real. I have a brain I am not scared to use. I am opinionated and my listeners kind of appreciate that about me,” she said.

She also explained how she got the nickname,Omo London.“I started working in Cool FM in 2012. Dotun, also an OAP asked me to do a radio sweeper, a short pre-recorded sample. After doing it, it was edited and in the sweeper Dotun referred to me as Omo London and it became really hilarious. Till date that sweeper became one of the most popular sweepers.

So when I go out people ask me: “Are you that ‘Omo London’ that Dotun talked about on radio”? and I said “yes.” I initially didn’t like that name because I   was scared that such nicknames will come across as pretentious and people will start thinking: is she not Nigerian? Why is she called ‘Omo   London’?  But soon, I began to realize that this is what people relate to.”
