WARRI— NIGER Delta activist, Mr. Omolubi Newuwumi, yesterday, called for proactive safety measures from the Federal Ministry of Health and security agencies to stop those quarantined for Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, from absconding and making contacts with other people.
Omolubi said the stress-free manner in which the nurse, who had primary contact with the late American-Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, fled Lagos for Enugu, where 21 one persons, including the nurse, had been quarantined was appalling.
He said: “Government should make sure that all those quarantined are closely monitored and prevented from contacting others to contain further spread of the virus.”
