BY DAPO AKINREFON
The APC candidate, Kayode has affirmed that the PDP candidate, Mr. Ayo Fayose has not changed his character and conduct contrary to what he claimed the candidate would have the public believe.

Citing what he claimed was Fayose’s involvement in locking-in the Alafao of Afao-Ekiti, to prevent the monarch from hosting him, Fayemi, in his palace, the APC candidate said Fayose has shown that as a leopard he cannot change his colour.

The Alafo of Afao-Ekiti is the monarch of Fayose’s hometown and was allegedly locked in to prevent him from receiving the APC candidate and incumbent governor of the state during a campaign stop in the town.
The monarch had said there was no way he would not welcome Fayemi who is the sitting governor.

Fayemi in a statement by his spokesperson, Dimeji Daniels, said this latest harassment and dehumanisation of Alafao of Afao-Ekiti only re-echoes Fayose’s “contempt for the traditional institution and his congenital knack for committing sacrilege.”

“This is a man who claims to have changed. The people of Ekiti can now see that this leopard will never change its spots.
This dog will keep going back to its vomit. It is not his fault. It is just how he is wired”, it stated.

The spokesperson urged all supporters of Governor Fayemi and APC members to remain calm and not allow drowning politicians drag them down to their level.

Reacting to Labour Party Governorship candidate Opeyemi Bamidele’s claims that he was suspending his campaign because of attacks by members of All Progressives Congress (APC), Daniels said Bamidele’s decision was “borne out of his frustration at realizing that he stands no chance in the June 21 governorship election.”

The statement read: “How would you describe a situation where not more than 20 people welcome a gubernatorial candidate who claims to be popular into a town? It is only normal if the LP candidate feels frustrated, having over-rated himself and realizing very late that his self-acclaimed popularity is only in his imagination.”

Also, it said “It is this frustration that has pushed the Labour Party into an alliance with the PDP candidate, Ayodele Fayose. We have heard how Opeyemi Bamidele was conscripted to unleash terror on Ekiti people with the aim of causing voter apathy, while at the same time masking the LP-orchestrated attacks with his seemingly gentle mien which is a far cry from his real undemocratic self.”

“We advise the Labour Party to grow up and start playing mature politics.
Ekiti people are tired of being fed with lies. We urge Labour Party members to shun thuggery and violence and unveil their manifesto, just as Dr. Fayemi has done, to the people of Ekiti State,” he stated.
