ABEOKUTA — An alleged hit-and-run driver, Adegbesan Muritala, was yesterday, docked at a magistrate’s court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State for killing two persons and injuring four others.
Muritala was accused of driving recklessly, thereby hitting six people with his truck, with number plate, LSR 979 XH, killing two of them instantly along Abeokuta-Ibadan expressway in Agbetu village in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The prosecutor, Banji Sangotokun, told the court that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 325 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.
Counsel to the acussed, Fadhilat Lawal, prayed court to grant her client bail in liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate, Anthony Araba granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till July 7, 2014 for mention.
