OSUN State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, his Ogun counterpart Ibikunle Amosun, Sultan of Sokoto, President General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland Oba Sikiru Adetona have prayed that God should expose sponsors of Boko Haram.

The quartet spoke recently at the opening of the biggest mosque in South west – the New Aiyepe Central Mosque at Ijebu-Aiyepe, in Ogun State.

Sultan Abubakar said Nigerians have long history of peaceful co-existence irrespective of tribe and religion.

He wondered how the Boko Haram members are trying to create chaos among Muslims and Christians in the country in the name of religion.

Islam, Sultan Abubakar, said is a religion of peace and not violence. “It is important to respect another person’s religion; you do not decide who is right or wrong. That should be left for Allah,” he said.
Oba Adetona who chaired the event lamented the incessant killings by the insurgents.
He prayed Allah to bring an end to the evil actions of the insurgent group and guide its members to the right path.

“There is no house or family in the south west that you do not have Muslims and Christians as members of the households and we live in peace; we do not discriminate because we are brothers,” he said.
Amosun said the gathering which had non-Muslims in attendance has again demonstrated peaceful co-existence among different faiths.

He warned the insurgents to stop the killings or face the wrath of Allah.
Aregbesola urged Nigerians to continue to be united and not give in to those who want to destroy the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed for longer years.
