Climate change: MDAs set new platform

LAGOS — As part of measures to mitigate effects of climate change as well as harness solutions for a cleaner, healthier and sustainable environment, the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment has developed fresh platform to tackle various environmental challenges.

According to the ministry, the measure is also to further fortify existing platforms with a view towards achieving maximum result for the general well‑being of the state.

Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello, spoke in Lekki at the end of a three‑day retreat for the management and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, in the environment sector.

Bello noted that due to the dynamic nature of the global environment, there was need for the environment sector to rise, sustain, strengthen existing capacities of its managers as well as build institutions to drive the environment sector.
