Enugu – Rangers International FC of Enugu on Wednesday joined other clubs calling for the relocation of El-kanemi Warriors home matches from Maiduguri to a safer centre.

Club’s spokesman, Forster Chime, in a statement in Enugu, urged the League Management Company (LMC) to change the venue for security reasons.

He said the club’s management had looked into the complaints tabled before it by the players and decided to act accordingly.

“We took the decision for the safety of our players and match officials as well as the spectators.

“Maiduguri has been facing security challenges recently due to the Boko Haram insurgence in Borno State.

“The club is not afraid of playing against El-kanemi but it is interested in the safety of the team,” it said.

Chime urged the LMC to consider the calls by the clubs in the interest of all. (NAN)
