Super Eagles and 3SC of Ibadan forward, Gbolahan Salami has expressed hope that the thigh injury that has limited his performance at the ongoing African Nations Championship would heal just in time for the semi final clash against the Black Stars of Ghana.
Speaking with Sports Vanguard at the Eagles’ Garden Court de Waal Hotel camp of the team in Cape Town, the striker said, “As a player, I am very happy that I am a member of the national team squad. I am happy because this is my first tournament with the national team but I must confess that I nurse a personal sense of disappointment because I have not been playing well due to a thigh injury.”
He said that the medical team have been working round the clock to ensure he gets fit again just in time before the semi final tie against Ghana on Wednesday. “They have been treating me twice a day to ensure I return to full fitness,” the 3SC said.
