Employee arraigned for threatening female boss

SANGO-OTA (OGUN) — A 30-year-old employee, Sola Amodu, was yesterday, brought before an Ota Magistrate’s court in Ogun State for allegedly threatening his manager.
The accused, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a charge of threat to life.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olajide Michael, told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 23 at about 12.34 a.m. at Onipanu area of Ota.
He alleged that the accused had sent a text message to the phone of Dorcas James, the Human Resources Manager of Roto Prints Company, threatening her.

The message, according to him, reads: “You (James) should be careful, other workers are not happy with you.”
Michael said the offence violated Section 86 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate, Mrs Titi Bello, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She said the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and show evidence of one-year tax payment to the state government.
The case was adjourned to February 17 for mention.
