Injured Benjamin Francis looks set to miss today’s CHAN clash against Mozambique, while Solomon Kwambe has promised improvements.
Heartland left back Francis has not trained with the rest of the squad since he was injured in the Mali match at the weekend.
However, central defender Kunle Odunlami has staged a remarkable recovery from his own injury and trained with the team on Monday.
Goal scorer against Mali, Gbolahan Salami, is also expected to be rewarded with a starting shirt after the attack led by Ifeanyi Ede lacked bite.
“There will be one or two other changes and won’t be surprised if a player like Gbolahan Salami starts this game,” said team spokesman Ben Alaiya.
In the meantime, Sunshine Stars defender Solomon Kwambe has promised a new and improved Eagles against Mozambique on Wednesday night at the Cape Town Stadium.
Kwambe, who admitted that the Eagles were far from their best in the game against Mali.
“All we need to do now is play our game, which we did not do against Mali.
“We do respect Mozambique as a team, but I believe that we have what it takes to overcome them.”
