After nearly 24 years of missing in action, veteran actor, Michael Omoregbee has made a stunning  return to acting with his lead-role in Lancelot Imasuen’s big budget historical film “Invasion 1897.”

Being his first ever Nollywood film, Omoregbee said, he was overwhelmed playing the role of Oba Ovonrawmen Nogbaisi in the much talked about film. He’s not new to acting and production. His acting dates back to his secondary school days with his baby roles like Bambulu in “This is Our Chance, James Ene Henshaw.

At a special screening of the trailer to mark the centenary of the demise of Oba Ovonrawmen during the week in Lagos, Omoregbee described the production as a blend of divinity and destiny.

According to him, “When I worked on Ola Rotimi’s Ovoramwen Nogbaisi for my first degree project in 1988, I did not envisage that destiny would one day connect me to the work again.”

Omoregbee, who’s currently based in Benin as an educationalist and a pastor informed that when he was approached to play the role of Ovonrawmen, what gave him confidence was the calibre of the producer as well as the director of the film.
