The special Task Force (STF) maintaining security in Plateau State has confirmed the killing of 17 people in different attacks in Riyom and Local Government Areas within the past one week.

Marvelous’ alleged journey into kidnapping had been a successful one. The Aniocha Local Government Area of Delta State indigene says he ventured into the illicit trade out of frustration. He narrates:

When I came back to Nigeria from Ghana, I had no job and my parents were very poor. I met some of my classmates who were doing very well and they told me they were into kidnapping. I offered to join them because I was very poor and I needed a way out and they accepted me. We kidnapped a businessman in Asaba and we got 20million ransom but the people I did the job with were very greedy.

A woman has been arrested while trying to cash an undisclosed amount of money paid into her bank account as ransom, which further led to the arrest of three other men which police described as members of her gang.
