LAGOS State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, yesterday said owners of structures razed in Market Street, Ebutte-Metta, Yaba Local Government would not be allowed to rebuild their structures until they got genuine building approvals.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, blamed the Federal Government for the fire disaster at MRS tank farm, Tin Can Island, Lagos on Wednesday, saying, “the disaster shows that the country’s oil and port management are still in their amateur stage.”

The Federal Government, yesterday, vowed to place heavy sanctions on the e-waste ship that was arrested on Wednesday. It also ordered that the toxic wastes laden containers on board the ship, MV Marivia Monrovia, be shipped back to the port of origin in the U.K.

This came after security operatives at the Tin-Can Island Port concluded examination on the two offensive containers bearing the e-wastes.
