A 46-year-old Hajj and Umrah services agent, Mallam Mohammed Salawudeen, has been ordered to be remanded in Police custody by an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defrauding intending pilgrims to Mecca.
When the matter came up yesterday, the presiding magistrate, Mercy Abikoye, ordered the accused person to be remanded at the state Criminal Investigation Bureau, CIB, of the Police headquarters till December 17, when the case will come up.
The Magistrate had rejected the oral application for bail made by the accused counsel, Mr. Wale Obadofin, on the ground that the accused person had earlier jumped police bail, but was re-arrested in Kano International Airport on his way out of the country.
