AKURE — THREE persons, including a chief, have been arrested by the Police in OndoState for robbery.
Vanguard gathered that the three suspects, in November this year, invaded the house of one Mrs Esther and robbed her of a Toyota Camry car.
Other items stolen were two mobile handsets and jewellery.
On the receipt of the complaint, the operatives of SARS swung into action and one Chief Sunday Boboye, the Ajagun-Ode of Ode community, Akure; Akeem Bakare and Ramoni Ismaila were arrested.
The police image maker, Wole Ogodo, said they had all confessed to the the crime.
Ogodo said it was Ajagun-Ode that used to supply the gun and the customized number plate they used while taking stolen vehicles to a dealer in Ado-Ekiti.
He said after the matter was reported, the vehicle was traced to Ado where one Akinyele Gbenga, the receiver, was arrested.
Ogodo said the receiver sold the vehicle to Ogundare Oluwole for N720,000.
Oluwole, according to Ogodo, in turn sold the vehicle to one Dare Akomolafe at Ikere Ekiti
The police spokesman said the car and two locally-made barrel guns were recovered from Ajagunode.
He said “the police will go into the root of the matter and ensure that those involved are punished.
The suspects, according to sources, may have been docked yesterday.
