Cattle thieves kill herdsman in Bauchi

BAUCHI — Cattle rustlers in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State have killed a herdsman in Sansan village area of Tashena District .

Investigations by Vanguard showed that the herdsman, Malam Abdu Abdullahi was shot with an arrow by the rustlers which caused his death a few hours later after he pursued them and succeeded in retrieving his flock.
Confirming the incident, the village head of Sansan, Malam Muazu Bulama, said the incident which resulted in the death of the herdsman took place Sunday night in a cottage near Sansan.

According to him, “in this community we have been experiencing problems of cattle rustlers who come and disturb our peace. Malam Abdu who happened to be a victim was shot with an arrow by the rustlers. He did not survive the shot because he lost a lot of blood. The corpse of the herdsman has been deposited at the Katagum General Hospital morgue.”

While calling on state government to deploy vigilante men in the area, the village head called on residents of the community to be conscious of suspicious characters in their vicinities.
