Director-General of  Center for Democratic Governance in Africa, CDGA, Dr. Dafe Akpocha, has condemned calls for the immediate resignation or removal of the Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Committee and Special Adviser to the president on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, saying the call was malicious and undemocratic.

He described people making the call as enemies of good governance,  saying the calls lacked merit and should be discountenanced.

In a statement, Akpocha affirmed that Niger Delta had witnessed more positive transformation since Kuku’s assumption of office.

He contended that the allegation of unequal spread in the handling of militants was nothing but the fabrication and evil thoughts of those against President Goodluck Jonathan’s giant strides and efforts to take the country to a greater height.

Akpocha said: “Today, many of our militants who wouldn’t have had the opportunity of good education and skills are fortunate because of the excellent leadership of Kuku and his team at the helm of affairs. Many of our militants are undergoing training in various institutions and training centres across the globe.”
