OFFICERS and men of Umuabor Division of Nigeria Police Force, Enugu State Command have been charged to be professional in the discharge of their duties. This charge was given by the Enugu State Commissioner of Police Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, when he led some key officers of the command on a visit to the area as part of his tour of divisions and formations under his command.
He noted that the newly created Umuabor Division from Nsukka Urban Division is one of those divisions that was graciously approved by the Inspector- General of police in order to take policing closer to the people and maintained that their personnel must leave above board as they will be interacting with members of the public from the grass root.
He, however, assured of his administration’s readiness to partner with the people in order to prevent crime and criminality in the area. Earlier,the Commissioner of Police with his key officers had visited Umuabor Development Centre where he was received by the administrator of the centre, Kelvin Ezeugwu and some of the key traditional rulers in the area accompanied by the member representing Nsukka East in Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Chinedu Christain Nwamba as well as other dignitaries.
In their various remarks, both the development administrator, the traditional rulers,the representative of Nsukka local Government chairman as well as the member representing Nsukka East in the House of Assembly spoke in the same line and expressed their joy in the visit of the commissioner of police to the area pointing out that arrangement has been concluded to commence construction of a modern police station with barracks at the permanent site in due course.
The police boss thanked the people and assured that he will continue to partner with members of the public even those at the grass root to ensure that crime is prevented and urged them not to relent. He was accompanied by the Commander mopol 3 Enugu, Csp Mamman B.Giwa, Commander Counter Terrorrism Unit, Sp. Ibrahim Danazumi, the representative of the Nsukka Area command, Csp Geoffrey C.Eze and Ebere Amaraizu, the Police Public Relations officer, Enugu State; amongst others.
