The Cycling Federation of Nigeria,CFN, has written to all the states of the federation  to start preparations for the Delta state sponsored national cycling tournament holding in Asaba in September.

A member of the board and the technical director of the federation, Mohammed Bashir told Saturday  Vanguard sports that the National Championship which is open to both male and female cyclists will hold in September in Asaba courtesy of the sports loving governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He said over 500 cyclists from across the country will take part in the seven day extravaganza.

“For the first time in the history of cycling in Nigeria, Delta state will play host to all the approved events of the International Cycling Union (UCI),” adding that “the cyclists will participate in road race, time trials, ( individual, and team) team pursuits, 1, 2 and 4 kilometres events,”.
