Nigeria’s ambassador to UK rescues Justus Esiri

Following the ugly incident, involving two Nollywood actors, Justus Esiri and Segun Arinze who were robbed  in their Hotel rooms in Surrey, United Kingdom few days ago, Nigeria mission in the UK  has come to the rescue of the veteran actor.

The envoy has issued a new passport to Esiri,on self-recognition. This, HVP gathered, was done based on his National Honours of Order of the Niger (OON) award.

Also, the hotel is said to have offered free accommodation, Segun Arinze for  three days  free-of-charge, anytime he is in London again as compensation him for his lost items.

The actors who have been in London for a month now staging a theatre tour including ‘The king must dance naked’ and other stage plays. They have also been at the Nigeria House, Royal Theatre, Stratford, London.

According to report, on that fateful day, the actors went for their usual rehearsal. On their return, they noticed that their belongings had been tampered with. After doing a check, they discovered that some valuables have been removed.

Segun Arinze had his Ipad missing while Justus Esiri was unlucky as his international passport with various visas in it, his travelling documents, laptop, monies and several other valuables missing too.

Though the matter is said to have reported to the police, no arrest has been made yet. We also learnt that the hotel had no CCTV cameras to capture the alleged robbery footage.

Segun, Justus and other cast including Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Bimbo Akintola and others are expected back in Nigeria on Monday, August 6, 2012.
