Sibi Gwar may be in the race for the highest goal scorer award in the Nigeria Premier League, but the Federation Cup race presents a new star in the horizon.
That player is Isah Akoh, who has banged in five goals in six matches.
There is no doubt that Chinedu Effugh, Emmanuel Olowo and Joseph Jackson in the Heartland defence must watch out for this player, who is set to put his name in the record books of the competition. If the plans goes as planned, then expect Akoh to put the ball behind Heartland’s experienced goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi.
Akoh has chosen the right platform to leverage his prowess in front of goal.
The Prime forward leads the goals chart with five goals and looks ready to add more with two matches to go.
“I will do my best for my team to win and that is to score goals. If I can’t score, then I’ll provide assists for my teammates,” he said.
