Society lady, Emelda Osuji, has revealed the aim of the concept of her trademark long-styled cap. The woman, who is the brain behind Women and Modesty, a Non-Governmental Organization, which champions decency among women, youth and the society at large, said that the cap is unique in that it serves as the perfect link between her personality and what she preaches.
“I preach decency and my image and appearance must be seen to tally with my campaign to rid the society of indecency”, she stated.
Osuji, who has just berthed a television talk-show, tagged ‘Decent Time, aimed at taking her campaign to families at the comfort of their sitting rooms, has also won the support of government to her project which kicked off with Women and Modesty three years ago.
She is happy that at last the government has realized the genuineness and her seriousness to help the society overcome the danger of indecency that has hitherto eaten deep into our system. Also, the virtuous woman expressed misgivings at reports in some quarters allegedly against her cap concept.
“I am worried at the media reports that the concept of my cap is not creative. The media is a friend but the privilege must not be stretched. I don’t joke with my cap. First, it is a unique contact with my decency campaign. Besides, I designed the concept of the long and flat caps to fit into my face structure because I don’t wear hair style, low-cut is my favourite. So, you can see that it is also my privacy.
And it is the same concept that daily wins me recognition both at home and abroad. That is why I have introduced the cap now to serve as the logo for my campaign. So, if anybody must talk about my cap, it must be for the positive because I could go to any length to protect my image.
