Sunshine Stars captain, Godfrey Oboabona has said that he and his colleague will be filing out today against Egypt with victory on their mind.
The spot kick specialist told Sports Vanguard from the teams’ camp in Dubai that his best will be seen today as he wears the green and white jersey.
“We are filing out with victory on our minds so we can restore confidence in the heart of Nigerians on us (Home Eagles) and the senior team as a whole. We know that Nigerians expect us to show to the world the stuff we are made off and I believe by the grace of God we will not fail them,” he said.
Reacting to the notion that more home players should make up the team, the Sunshine Stars center-back said the onions lies in the hands of coach Stephen Keshi.
“For me, I am of the opinion that things should be taken one after the other. The coach knows what is best for the team and the country, so if the home players would have large number in the team, that would be the decision of he’s.
“My focus for now is solely on the Egypt game and to give my best to my fatherland which I want to believe is the same in the hearts of all the other players in camp. However, if we are picked in the final team to play Namibia in June, we put same energy as we are putting in the Egypt game to it and I am sure victory will be ours,” Oboabona added.
