IBADAN—THE Minority Leader in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Rafiu Adekunle, has faulted the recent legislative summit held in Ibadan by the chieftains of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and presented to the public as opinion of South West leaders.

Distancing himself and other members of his party from the summit, he said, the assemblage of the politicians was nothing but a mere self seeking agenda.

The lawmaker, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  through his media aide, Mr. Babalola Afobaje onthat the meeting of chieftains of the opposition party said: “Selfish agenda of some political leaders in the ACN cannot be an integration of the South-West.”

He further punctured the forum asking how a clique could gather themselves and claimed that they were representing the interest of others.

The so-called summit which they tagged integration of the South-West, he argued, excluded a whole state (Ondo) in the region, leaders of the Yoruba in the other political parties, except those in the ACN.

According to him, the core protégé of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo were also shut out of the summit.  “This is where the question comes as to the kind of integration the ACN leadership are calling for. Is it a one-party integration of an integration based on ideology, where all shades of opinion, interest and ideology will be represented and harmonised?” he said
