Nigerian Football Federation has expressed satisfaction with the level of work Eagles’ coach Stephen Keshi has done in his bid to return the national team to winning ways.

NFF secretary-general, Musa Amadu said in Abuja that after an appraisal of the recent camping exercise done by coach Keshi with the home-based players, the NFF was reassured that the coach was on course to reposition the team for the task ahead.

He argued that there was no friction between the federation and the Keshi on his programms ahead of the 2012 campaigns.

He was speaking against the background of misinformation concerning the friendlies lined up the Eagles. He stated that the only issue was whether Nigeria should play against Senegal. According to him it was the coach who insisted that the match should not be played.

“The Coach said that there was rivalry between both nations and it will not be a good idea to play the game with local stars. In fact, it was going to be a prestige friendly and he did not like the idea of playing a second team,” Amadu said.

He confirmed that the Eagles will face Angola on January 11 and Liberia on January 14. This according to him was to put the team in competition mood for the Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on February 29.
