Why Jonathan must visit Innoson Plastic Factory – SON DG


THE Director-General of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Joseph Odumodu has expressed the need for President, Goodluck Jonathan to visit Innoson Plastic Factory at Emene, Enugu State.

Dr. Odumodu made this remark during his one day working visit to Innoson Plastic Factory.

According to him, it is very important for Mr. President to visit Innoson Plastic Company and see what is going on.

“Let him kindly make out time from his busy schedule and visit this mega plastic company. I strongly believe that such opportunity will make him know more about the man behind Innoson Group.

Apart from knowing that he is a rare Nigerian working for the welfare of so many Nigerians, the President will also use the occasion to see what the owner is passing through especially in the area of infrastructural problems.”

“This is my first visit here. I came in to know if what a lot of people are saying concerning Innoson is true, indeed, I am quite impressed with the level of expansion here, satisfied with the multiple plastic products and encouraged by the vision and determination of the owner.

He has demonstrated the capacity to create an impact. This is what SON is really interested in Nigeria of today. We have seen what he is doing and ready to assist him to reach international standard. This visit is an eye-opener, we are going to support him achieve greater results outside the shores of this country,” he noted.

Thanking the SON Director-General and his team, the Chairman of the company, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, expressed satisfaction over the visit and promised to welcome their professional advice that would enhance the quality of his plastic products.

On the challenges facing him as an indigenous manufacturer, Chief Chukwuma noted that the present administration of President Goodluck Jonathan seems to be tackling the problems, adding that in no distant time the local producers would start enjoying the fruit of his good economic policy.
