‘MTN slows our decision’

By Ime Bassey

Head of the Organizing and Disciplinary (O/D) committee of the NFF, Emmanuel Olaleye Adepoju has disclosed that telecommunication giant, MTN is slowing its decision on the alleged match fixing.

Making this known to Sunday Vanguard Sports from Ibadan, Adepoju said MTN telecommunication has refused to release the call log of both lines of coach Stanley Eguma and the referee involved.

He also said that the verdict goes beyond the two clubs but Nigerian football as a whole.

“We knew that it is better for us to do a thorough job as most Nigerians are expecting a sound verdict, so we needed to request for the call log of the referee and that of Eguma in order for us to ascertain the truth, but unfortunately, MTN is not helping us in this matter. They have refused to supply us with the material. They are the ones delaying our decision as we can’t pass it without substantial evidence.

“The issue is beyond Lobi and Sunshine as most people think but other parties are involved and critical investigation must be done,” Adeopoju said.
