Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmo has revealed that the three home based goal-keepers in the Eagles camp would be nurtured to become top goalkeepers for the country.
Speaking to Sunday Vanguard Sports, Shorunmu said they would help to cover for Vincent Enyeama and Austin Ejide. He also said that their form have improved since arriving camp despite being on holidays for a while after the end of last season.
“We hope to build in them the mentality of world class goalkeeping ahead of the qualifying series of the Nations Cup next year. This will help to have a good cover for the likes of Vincent Enyeama and Austin Ejide.
“The three goalkeepers in camp have shown the stuff they are made of. They are getting better as the day goes by, given the fact that they have been on holidays since the conclusion of the league,” Shorunmu said.
It would be recalled that Chigozie Agbim (Warri Wolves), Okemute Odah (Sharks), Paul Godwin (Enyimba) and Moses Ocheje (Sunshine Stars) were invited to the Eagles camp by chief coach Stephen Keshi.
