Ekweremadu debunks report of feud with Chime

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has refuted insinuations of a clash between him and Governor Sullivan Chime over control of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State.

Refuting the claim, Senator Ekweremadu affirmed that he was not in any tussle with anyone and certainly not with Governor Chime as alleged in the report.

The statement issued by Mr. Uche Anichukwu, Special Adviser to the Deputy Senate President, read:

“His Excellency, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu notes with dismay media report that he is leading a group in a battle of supremacy and for the control of the structures of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State.

“There is certainly no such tussle with anyone, let alone His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State. Neither are there any clandestine moves as alleged by the report. Hence any attempt to input or instigate one is in bad taste and out of synch with the political dispositions and character of the Deputy President of the Senate.

“Senator Ike Ekwerema-du, therefore, enjoins the public, especially the good people of Enugu State and party faithful to discountenance the report.”
