The Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria Osun state chapter has directed its members to disregard the call by a group within the union that members should continue with the strike suspended last week by the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr. Wasiu Olatubosun, has said the twin challenges of flooding and cholera outbreak posed a setback to the new administration particularly as they occurred at a time the government was settling down to begin its programmes.

Dissatisfied by the refusal of a magistrate’s court in Benin to grant bail to the embattled chairman of the Edo State Task Force on Demolition of Illegal Structures, Major Lawrence Loye (rtd), a group, Community Assistance and Cooperative Outreach, CACO, said it had assembled a team of lawyers to secure bail and enforce his fundamental rights.
