Coach Rumson Madu says that Heartland are eager to win the Federation Cup because of the need to play in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Heartland play Enyimba on Sunday in the final match of the Fed Cup at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, with the winners guaranteed a slot to play in the Confed Cup and speaking with us during the week, Madu, who is the assistant coach of the Owerri outfit, said that they were keen to take their destiny in their hands by going all out for a win against their fierce rivals from Aba.
“My target is only victory. I want to win the trophy as a coach, having won as a player with the team when it was Iwuanyanwu Nationale in 1988.
“We have prepared very well for the game and we are hopeful of a win. Winning the cup takes us into the continent next season, so this is an extra motivation to beat Enyimba, who are a very good side”, added Madu
