IG summons importers, manufacturers over interception of 700 explosives

Following the tension and uncertainty generated by the purported interception of 700 explosives by soldiers attached to Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army two weeks ago at the city gate Abuja, and clarification by the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, that they were dynamite explosives used for blasting of rocks at construction sites, the IGP yesterday met with manufacturers and distributors. At the meeting the IG spelt out new modalities for the purchase and movement of such explosives.
