IT was a time of refreshing, prophetic declaration and great grace for change as Insight Christian Centre recently concluded its 2011 annual convention amidst joy and thanksgiving.
The 4-day event with the theme; ‘This same grace’ also marked the church’s 5th year anniversary.
The programme featured notable men of God including Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia, Prophet Joe Akanya and hosts, Pastor Prince Ufford and wife, Pastor Judith Ufford among others.
Speaking on the essense of this year’s theme, General Overseer of Insight Christian Centre, Pastor Prince Ufford said it was the grace of God that has sustained the ministry in the last five years, pointing out that the essense therefore is for the church to celebrate the faithfulness of God in the task He had given to His servants.
According to the pastor; the road had not smooth but as he prayed for a theme for this year’s convention, “I received through the inspiration of God the word, “Grace” and I discovered it in II Corinthians 8:6 and I just added ‘this same’ making it ‘This same grace’.
It is this same grace that has been keeping, providing, sustaining and showing us the way forward in this ministry.”
Continuing, Pastor Ufford revealed that this year’s convention has been a blessing, both spiritually and physically, for the congre-gation as men and women who have been beaten and battered now have a new hope in Christ Jesus.
While addressing the congre-gation, the man of God, said God’s grace can only work when one obeys God’s com-mandments in true faith, explaining that Abraham and Isaac did not sleep over God’s promise but rather believed, obeyed God’s words and worked towards the fulfillment of the promise.
As part of activities marking the convention, there was presentation of gifts for some church members who have ceaselessly worked for the growth of the church, while Insight Play House entertain-ed the audience with a drama sketch titled; “Grace”.
Delivering a sermon on how to connect with ‘The same grace’, guest speaker and the serving overseer of Day Light International Ministry, Prophet Joseph Akanya who ministered on Sunday noted that the grace of God is always available for those only those who are willing to depart from sin and be obedient to follow word of God.
He described the grace of God as a bye product of Christian commitment and walk with God, warning therefore that God’s grace is not automatic but can only be attained through obedience to the Word of God.
He said: “For man to enjoy and connect to the grace of God, he or she must be born again, follow the teachings of the Word of God and be obedient to the Word. Any Christian who refuses to do all these things cannot enjoy grace of God because it is not automatic.”
Akanya also advised Christ-ians who are already enjoy-ing God’s grace to continue to be steadfast in doing good works and not depart from God’s commandment.
