LAGOS – Former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has described the late Christy Essien-Igbokwe, as a great achiever, who left a good legacy behind.
In a condolence letter to Chief Edwin Igbokwe, widower of the late Lady of Songs, Tinubu said though, he had not come to grips with the sudden death of the musician, he felt consoled by her musical feat.
“I console myself that she lived a fulfilled life, and made millions of her country men and women happy with her golden music. That is why she would always stay sweet and fresh in our memory.”
While asking the family to take heart and brace themselves to take their matriarch’s legacy to a higher pedestal, the former governor said Mrs Igbokwe packed so much achievements in her life that she thoroughly earned her fame.
“She lived an extremely illustrious life and thoroughly earned her fame – a fame which made her a perpetual role model to our younger ones,” he noted and prayed that God would give them the grace to build on the legacies of the late music icon.
