Group condemns crisis in Orumba South

The Owerre-Ezukala Improvement Union of Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, has condemned the arson and murder of their kinsmen by the Awuka-Ogbunka people who invaded the community without any provocation.

Chairman of the Union, Hon. Humphrey Ekejiuba while condemning the wanton destruction of lives and property in the Owerre-Ezukala community, regretted that in the present age, this kind of invasion and attacks is taking place.

He regretted that every measure put in place by Anambra State Government to nip in the bud the crisis has been defiled by intruders and their sponsors.

Ekejiuba while narrating the extent of wanton destruction ongoing in the community recalled that, “on June 7, 2011, Awuka people of Ogbunka armed with heavy lethal weapons, invaded the community and held NYSC members hostage and set ablaze their residences, destroying their properties .
